Job Description:
• Apart from acting as a mediator between customer and internal departments, merchandiser also has the responsibility to advise/assist other departments and ensure all customer/productrequirements are fulfilled.
• Upon receiving the order/sampling requirements, Merchandiser is required to update the system and follow-up with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated.
• Prepare and update requirements of raw materials needed for PD and execution of orders. Ensure all approvals are sought timely.
• Continuously follow-up with concerned internal departments and prepare an update for Marketing Executive with current status of all running orders/samples and highlight deviations (if any) from the plan.
• Have packaging material developed/sourced and coordinate withpurchase department to ensure timely approvals and planned timelines are met.
• Prepare and dispatch all kinds of samples required by customers for approval/reference/record.
• Submit approved/chopped samples to concerned department(s) for bulk production.
• Review job completion report and highlight excess/shortages of fabric against requirement.
• Issue fabric shortfalls in consultation with Assistant Manager/Manager Marketing.
• Ensure finished fabric is delivered to Stitching department within planned timelines.
• Communicate directly with customers and update them on production/sampling status and/or sample approvals.
• Manage healthy relations with the customers and be available all the time for any professional matters.
• Communicate with packaging supplier (if needed) in consultation with purchase department for approvals
• Communicate with the internal departments for order and PD related information.
• Follow-up with internal departments for order/PD status.
• Update management from time to time regarding any discrepancy with regards to the communication about product development & delivery.
• Prepare Contract, Proforma Invoice in OCMS and issue Processing Orders (PO – for sampling and/or bulk orders) and IOC to the concerned departments.
• Provide Testing Standards to Lab at the development/pre-production stage.
• Submit approved fabric to planning department within stated timelines.
• Provide packaging approvals to purchase department within the stated timeline.
• Regularly update TNA and highlight deviations (if any) to Marketing Executive for timely resolution and/or decisions.
• Prepare Greige File (in OCMS) according to issuance plan and shipping date.
• Submit Shipping Instructions and Packing List to export department for shipment booking.
• It is one of the responsibilities of merchandiser to follow theshipping and logistics of each order. He has to give the shipping instructions clearly to the production, quality and shipping departments. It is not only enough to give the instructions to them, but also it is the merchandiser’s duty to coordinate with these departments for smooth shipping and to follow each shipment closely.
• Take responsibility for the inspections as per the customer’s demands.
